the Times
- A one hour session by donation
- Understanding Greed, Hatred, and Delusion
- Saturday, November 8. 1-2pm EST / 9-10am AK
- A practice in generosity for ourselves, our communities, and all beings
"There is no greater suffering than hunger. Hunger wastes our bodies and destroys our well-being, peace, and joy. We should never forget those who are hungry; it is a discomfort to miss one meal, but think of the suffering of those who have not had a proper meal in days or even weeks.
We must find ways to assure that no one in this world is forced to go hungry”.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh, Old Path White Clouds
Metta For These Times
This online session will focus on the Buddha’s teachings of the three root causes of suffering: Greed, Hatred, and Delusion.
Understanding these roots of suffering can help us alleviate them in ourselves and in our society. A talk will be followed by a guided meditation, then group sharing.
This is a session by donation only. In the spirit of feeding others, this includes physical items to your local food pantry, food and other supplies to your local pet shelter, or a monetary donation to an organization that works to combat hunger at this time.
Donations are based on your judgement- where and how much you can give at this time. If your cup runneth over- generosity one of the best practices for the heart. If your cup is running empty- please join the session free of cost.
No experience necessary, just an open mind and open heart.
An email with a Google Meet link will be sent out after registration.
See you Saturday!
